Адвокаты инвесторов пригрозили Volkswagen иском на €40 млрд
Одна из ведущих мировых юридических фирм Bentham начала переговоры с инвесторами Volkswagen о подаче иска против автопроизводителя по обвинению его в «фундаментальной нечестности». Поводом для иска должны стать потери инвесторов в связи со скандалом с фальсификацией тестов на выброс загрязняющих веществ, пишет The Telegraph. По оценке юристов, потери их клиентов, инвестировавших в Volkswagen, составили около €40 млрд, именно такую сумму юристы планируют отсудить в пользу инвесторов.
По информации издания, Bentham уже подключила к работе по этому делу другую юридическую компанию — Quinn Emanuel, которая уже выиграла для своих клиентов по другим делам около $50 млрд. Сейчас адвокаты ведут переговоры с крупнейшими инвесторами, в частности с фондами Катара и Норвегии, о подаче консолидированного иска.
Volkswagen оказался в центре скандала из-за проблем с программным обеспечением в автомобилях с дизельным двигателем. Оно позволяло обходить проверку на выброс вредных веществ. Расследование в отношении компании инициировало Агентство по охране окружающей среды США. Volkswagen грозит штраф в $18 млрд. 23 сентября на фоне скандала свой пост оставил председатель совета директоров концерна Мартин Винтеркорн. В Германии против него ведется расследование. Компанию покинул еще один топ-менеджер — председатель правления Skoda Винфрид Фаланд.
По требованию регулятора Volkswagen заявил о планах отозвать 8,5 млн автомобилей в странах Евросоюза.
Власти США обязали VW отозвать с американского рынка 500 тыс. машин. Volkswagen был вынужден частично приостановить продажи ряда моделей дизельных автомобилей в США. Нарушения в работе программного обеспечения имеют 1,2 млн автомобилей Skoda, 2,1 млн автомобилей Audi, 700 тыс. автомобилей SEAT. В результате скандала VW был вынужден отложить часть своих инвестиционных проектов.
