Хакер из Пенсильвании заполучил сотни обнаженных фото знаменитостей, прикидываясь сотрудником Apple и Google
Райану Коллинзу из Ланкастера (Пенсильвания, США) предъявлены обвинения в компьютерном взломе, связанным с нашумевшей утечкой огромного количества обнаженных фото знаменитостей в 2014 году, в числе которых были Дженнифер Лоусен, Кирстен Данст, Кейт Аптон и другие.
В сообщении прокуратуры, на которое ссылается E!Online, указано, что 36-летний хакер использовал фишинговые схемы, которые дали ему незаконный доступ к более чем 100 учетным записям Apple и Google, в том числе членам представителей индустрии развлечений Лос-Анджелеса.
Коллинз согласился признать себя виновным в совершении уголовного преступления и злоупотребления законом и подписал соглашение со следствием. При этом, отмечают СМИ, следователи не нашли каких-либо доказательств, указывающих на отношение Коллинза к утечке компрометирующих снимков.
“Сегодня люди хранят важную личную информацию онлайн и в своих цифровых устройствах. Несанкционированный доступ к такой конфиденциальной информации является уголовным преступлением”, – напомнил прокурор США Эйлин М. Деккер.
Обвинения Коллинзу были предъявлены в Лос-Анджелесе, однако его дело будет передано для рассмотрения и вынесения приговора в Пенсильванию. С учетом его признания и сотрудничества со следствием, ему грозит максимум пять лет в федеральной тюрьме.
Как сообщается, Коллинз начиная с 2012 года рассылал своим жертвам по электронной почте письма, в которых имитировал просьбу Apple или Google предоставить логины и пароли. Если ему отвечали, Коллинз получал доступ к почте потерпевших и скачивал обнаженные фото и видео. В некоторых случаях он использовал программное обеспечение для скачивания всего содержимого устройств Apple, включая iCloud. Таким образом компьютерный мошенник получил контроль по крайней мере над 50 учетными записями Apple и 72 учетными записями Google, большинство из которых принадлежали знаменитостям женского пола.
“При нелегальном доступе к интимным подробностям личной жизни своих жертв господин Коллинз вторгся в их частную жизнь и оставил много негативных последствий, включая стресс, смущение и чувство неуверенности. Мы продолжаем видеть, как селебрити и представители всех слоев общества страдают от последствий этого преступления, и настоятельно просим пользователей интернета критически относиться к электронным письмам с просьбой о предоставлении личной информации”, – отметил помощник директора Лос-Анджелесского отделения ФБР Дэвид Боудич.
Эксперт по кибербезопасности Майк Зозайя, обсуждая с CBS Local данный инцидент, выразил надежду, что знаменитости извлекут важный урок. “Все всегда сводится к пользователю, следует с умом подходить к обращению с вашей информацией и личными данными”, – пояснил он. Как отметил Зозайя, сегодня хакерам приходится прикладывать минимум усилий, чтобы получить интересующие их данные.
Напомним, за последние несколько лет жертвами хакеров, к радости онанистов всех мастей, стали актрисы, модели и другие знаменитости. В их числе – Дженнифер Лоуренс, Анна Кендрик, Келли Гарнер, Александра Чандо, Эмма Стоун, Ванесса Хадженс, Мэри-Кейт Олсен, модели Кара Делевинь, Кейт Аптон, певицы Рианна и Аврил Лавин. По последним данным, всего злоумышленники получили личные данные почти 600 звезд.
