Швеция потребовала от Эквадора пустить прокуроров в лондонское посольство для допроса Ассанжа
Прокуратура Швеции в срочном порядке направляет властям Эквадора официальный запрос о проведении допроса Джулиана Ассанжа, который уже три года укрывается в эквадорском посольстве в Лондоне. Основатель WikiLeaks не выходит из посольства, опасаясь экстрадиции в США.
“Запрос будет направлен по дипломатическим каналам через Минюст в Эквадор. Великобритания еще в июне дала разрешение на проведение мероприятий в рамках расследования, и соответствующие инстанции информируются о развитии ситуации”, – говорится в тексте сообщения, опубликованном на официальном сайте прокуратуры.
Сообщается также, что допрос будет вести главный прокурор страны Ингрид Исгрен в присутствии представителей полиции. На данный момент временные рамки запроса неизвестны.
В минувший понедельник, 14 декабря, стало известно, что Эквадор и Швеция договорились насчет допроса Ассанжа в эквадорском посольстве в Лондоне. Сообщалось, что соответствующий документ был подписан в столице Эквадора после шести месяцев переговоров. “Это, без сомнения, является инструментом, который укрепит двусторонние отношения и позволит облегчить, к примеру, осуществление судебных вопросов, таких как допрос Ассанжа”, – говорилось в сообщении МИДа.
Ассанжа задержали в Лондоне в декабре 2010 года по запросу шведских правоохранительных органов, настаивавших на выдаче по делу об изнасиловании. 30 мая 2012 года Верховный суд Великобритании после ознакомления с материалами дела сообщил, что каких-либо препятствий для выдачи Ассанжа шведским властям нет. Суд подтвердил свое решение 14 июня того же года. Сам Ассанж все это время отрицал какую-либо причастность в совершении преступлений на сексуальной почве.
В июне 2012 года стало известно, что Ассанж пришел в посольство Эквадора в Лондоне и обратился к эквадорским властям с заявлением о предоставлении ему политического убежища из-за опасений о его экстрадиции шведскими властями в США в связи с его деятельностью в WikiLeaks.
В августе 2015-го истек срок давности по трем из четырех эпизодов, в которых его подозревали.
