Глава Volkswagen ушел в отставку
В заявлении, размещенном на сайте VW, Винтеркорн говорит о своей ответственности как главы компании за все нарушения, которые были обнаружены в работе дизельных двигателей.
«Я ухожу в отставку в интересах компании, несмотря на то что со своей стороны я делал все от меня зависящее», — сказано в заявлении.
О том, кто сменит его на посту председателя правления автоконцерна, Винтеркорн не сообщает.
О том, что Винтеркорн покинет пост председателя правления, 22 сентября сообщило немецкое издание Tagesspiegel со ссылкой на членов наблюдательного совета компании. Издание отмечало, что решение об уходе Винтеркорна будет принято в пятницу, 25 сентября, а сменит Винтеркорна глава Porsche Маттиас Мюллер. До своего назначения главой Porsche в 2010 году Мюллер был главой департамента планирования производства VW. Представители VW в комментарии агентству Reuters назвали информацию об уходе Винтеркорна «смехотворной».
Накануне Винтеркорн выступил с видеообращением, в котором пообещал продолжить борьбу в качестве главы компании.
Причиной скандала вокруг VW стала неисправность программного обеспечения в автомобилях c дизельным двигателем. Установленное на автомобилях ПО позволяло обходить проверку на уровень выброса вредных веществ. В нарушении Volkswagen уличило американское управление охраны окружающей среды. Власти США обязали VW отозвать с американского рынка 500 тыс. машин. Volkswagen был вынужден частично приостановить продажи ряда моделей дизельных автомобилей в США. Немецкому автоконцерну грозит штраф в $18 млрд.
Компания признала, что неисправным программным обеспечением снабжены 11 млн автомобилей по всему миру. На покрытие расходов, связанных с неисправным ПО, компания выделит в третьем квартале €6,5 млрд.
На фоне скандала акции Volkswagen падают три дня подряд — с €162 до €95 за штуку.
