Это рекордный рост «коротких» позиций или "шортов" (ставок на падение рубля) с ноября прошлого года. Он эквивалентен покупке доллара против российской валюты на сумму 6,44 млрд рублей. Для сравнения, за неделю до этого количество "шортов" в рубле, сделанных хедж-фондами, уменьшилось на 418 позиций.
Совокупный размер позиций хедж-фондов, поставивших на обвал рубля, на 1 сентября достиг 6848 контрактов (или 17,2 млрд руб.). Чистая короткая позиция хедж-фондов (с учетом тех, кто поставил на рост рубля) составила 2857 контактов (7,14 млрд руб.).
«Это незначительный объем для валютного рынка, и и сам рынок рубля на Чикагской бирже не очень ликвиден, поэтому нельзя говорить, что сейчас открыто большое количество позиций, или что хедж-фонды сильно активизировались в работе с рублевыми деривативами», – говорит главный эксперт Центра экономического прогнозирования Газпромбанка Егор Сусин. Он отмечает, что фьючерсами на Чикагской бирже, как правило, торгуют нерезиденты, которые не имеют доступа к внутренним валютным торгам.
