MasterCard будет штрафовать банки за отсутствие бесконтактной оплаты
Платежная система MasterCard ввела штрафы для банков-эквайеров за установку терминалов оплаты без возможности бесконтактной оплаты. Об этом газете «Коммерсантъ» рассказали участники рынка.
Собеседники издания рассказали, что банки-эквайеры получили от MasterCard письмо, в котором говорится, что с этого года при установке нового терминала оплаты в торговой точке (POS-терминал) устройство должно быть оснащено функцией проведения бесконтактных платежей.
По словам банкиров, штраф за установку терминала без указанной функции составляет €2,5 тыс.
Также в письме сказано, что с 1 января 2019 года в течение года банки-эквайеры должны будут заменить все POS-терминалы на устройства с бесконтактной оплатой.
Как сообщили изданию в MasterCard, «к 2020 году поддержка бесконтактной оплаты должна стать стандартом для европейских торгово-сервисных предприятий, принимающих к оплате MasterCard и Maestro». Также представитель платежной системы пояснил, что сроки определялись, исходя из того, чтобы у банков было достаточно времени на замену терминалов.
«Уже установленные терминалы могут быть заменены по истечении срока эксплуатации, но не позднее 1 января 2020 года», — сказали в пресс-службе.
