С 2012 года сотрудники Министерства национальной безопасности США потеряли несколько сотен служебных жетонов, удостоверений, сотовых телефонов и единиц оружия, сообщает Fox News, получивший списки утраченного имущества. Журналисты опасаются, что эти предметы могут попасть в руки террористов и других злоумышленников.
Судя по рапортам, которые оказались у Fox News, с 2012 по 2015 годы сотрудники министерства потеряли более 1300 жетонов, 165 единиц стрелкового оружия и 589 сотовых телефонов.
Большая часть потерянных удостоверений пришлась на Бюро таможенного и пограничного контроля (Customs and Border Protection, CBP), Иммиграционную и таможенную полицию (Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE), а также Службу гражданства и иммиграции США (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, USCIS).
