В субботу, 17 октября, в столице штата Калифорния Сакраменто прошел необычный торжественный ужин – вместо 120 гостей, которые были приглашены на свадьбу 27-летней Куинн Дуэйн, изысканными блюдами в одном из лучших ресторанов города наслаждались местные бездомные.
В понедельник, 12 октября, жених молодой женщины отменил свадьбу, в то время как роскошный банкет в четырехзвездочном ресторане отеля Citizen стоимостью 35 тысяч долларов был оплачен заблаговременно, пишет KCRA.
Мать невесты Кари Дуэйн решила не отменять пир, но вместо гостей, которые должны были поздравлять молодоженов, она пригласила обездоленных сограждан – бездомных вместе с семьями.
Приглашенные оценили широкий жест Дуэйнов, “Лишиться чего-то очень важного и отдать это ближнему – это подлинная благотворительность, это очень добрый поступок”, – сказала одна из бездомных женщин, мать пятерых детей Эрика Крэйкрафт.
Сама покинутая невеста на банкет не пришла – она предпочла остаться дома в обществе друзей. Необычных гостей встречала ее мать Кари.
На следующий день, в воскресенье, мать и дочь отправились в путешествие в Белиз – предполагалось, что Куинн проведет там медовый месяц, но в силу изменившихся обстоятельств сопровождать девушку будет Кари.
